Colt Keo-Meier

Colt Keo-Meier, Ph.D., graduated from the Child and Family Track of the University of Houston’s Clinical Psychology Program in 2013. He is currently completing his postdoctoral fellowship Interprofessional LGBT Healthcare at the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center in Houston, Texas. Colt has worked with transgender people of all ages and their loved ones. He is a clinician, researcher, consultant, and educator. He has instructed the Psychology of Human Sexuality for three years at UH and is preparing to teach a Transgender Studies in their Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies Department. He is currently the co-chair of the Committee for Transgender People and Gender Diversity for Division 44 of the American Psychological Association (APA) and the co-chair of the Student Initiative Taskforce of the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH). He is the co-founder of Gender Infinity, the annual conference for gender diverse children and their families in Houston. His research focuses on two main areas: 1) the effects of testosterone on the mental health and sexuality of female-to-male trans men and their partners and 2) transgender youth and their families. Colt has received multiple awards for his research including the UH Blanche Espy Chenoweth Graduate Fellowship for women, gender, and sexuality studies research and the APA Division 44 Matthew W. Scholarship Award for FTM Research. He has authored nine peer-reviewed publications and two book chapters.
