Hilary Grubb
Hilary Maia Grubb is a queer- and genderqueer-identified M.D. candidate at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. Hilary is a non-traditional student, pursuing medicine in her late thirties after a successful dance and choreographic career, during which she often collaborated with trans and gender non-conforming artists to create performances that challenged assumptions about gender and sexuality. In medical school, Hilary created and implemented a Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Health curriculum for Columbia clinical medical students, and is currently adapting the curriculum for Columbia’s School of Nursing and Mailman School of Public Health. As a Daniel Noyes Brown Primary Care Scholar, Hilary is developing a Transgender Health curriculum for Columbia’s Center for Family and Community Medicine. Hilary also has a strong interest in public and community mental health, and is currently applying to residency in Adult Psychiatry.
