Jacobs, LCSW is a psychotherapist at the Institute for Personal Growth in Jersey City, NJ, as well as an author, presenter, and activist in the New York City area focusing on gender, sexuality, and sexual minorities. In addition, she was a member of the Behavioral Health Organizing Committee for the 2013 Philadelphia Trans* Health Conference; she also serves on the Board of Directors, the Clinical Care Committee, and the Trans and Gender Nonconforming Community Advisory Board for the Callen-Lorde Community Health Center in Manhattan. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Sarah Lawrence College along with a Masters of Social Work from New York University. She is registered as a Kink Aware Practitioner of Psychotherapy through the National Coalition for Sexual Freedom. She is pursuing publication for her manuscript, Many Paths: The Choice of Gender, and is a contributor to the upcoming Trans Bodies, Trans Selves. As Lawrence Jacobs, she worked in the arts as a musician, composer, and photographer, as well as in less glamorous positions such as corporate middle management.
